Local Flavours: The Heart of Our Villages (Patron Saint Festivals)
The Patron Saint festivals are the perfect excuse to dive headfirst into Canarian culture. Each village celebrates its patron saint with music, dancing, local grub, and a super festive atmosphere. Get ready for some truly special moments, the kind that stay with you forever!
-Nuestra Señora del Carmen en Corralejo on 16th July 2025: If you’re drawn to the nautical spirit, you can't miss this one. The procession of the Virgin across the sea is a beautiful sight, connecting you to our roots. Music, open-air dances, and the overflowing joy of the locals fill every corner.
- Other Patron Saint Festivals: The nearby villages also have festivals you'll adore. For example, in Tindaya, they celebrate Nuestra Señora de la Caridad. The Tindaya festivals in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad are held from 8th to 15th August 2025. You can find more details here: Tindaya festivals in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad. And in Lajares, they celebrate San Antonio de Padua. Escape the routine, do a bit of digging, and discover the genuine magic of each place!
Our Locals' Talents: Craft Fairs
If you love bringing home a unique keepsake that tells a story from your travels, the craft fairs are a true treasure trove. Here, you'll find handmade goodies crafted with love: ceramics, jewellery, textiles... you name it! Plus, it's a brilliant chance to meet the local artists, have a chat, and discover the passion they pour into every creation.
- Markets in Corralejo: Corralejo has several markets where you can find real crafty treasures. The Acua Water Park craft market (Tuesdays and Fridays) and the traditional market at the Campanario Shopping Centre (Thursdays and Sundays) are great places to start your local treasure hunt.
- Art Walks: On Fridays in Calle Churruca and Saturdays in the pedestrian area by the church, the art comes to the streets in the afternoon. Have a wander and be amazed by the talent in the air.
A Feast for the Taste Buds: Gastronomic Events
